About this logbook

The Sigma Reading Logbook is provided as a free convenience tool to help you keep records of WBGT readings. Logs are retained for at least three (3) years from their last entry. Entries cannot be edited or deleted once saved. Your logbook code is the only key to your log — Sigma cannot recover lost codes, and anyone with the code can view and add entries. You are responsible for maintaining your own copies of records you rely on (use Download CSV or Print at any time). Sigma may use anonymized, aggregated readings to provide and improve its services, including regional heat maps. This tool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind; it does not constitute safety, medical, or legal advice, and does not replace your organization's monitoring policies.

Privacy: logbook entries contain the temperature readings you save, plus any optional details you choose to add (field name, initials, notes). If you enable it, the approximate GPS location of the reading is saved with your permission — you can decline the browser's location prompt or turn the toggle off at any time. When location is captured, the coordinates are converted to a city/region name using a third-party reverse-geocoding service (BigDataCloud) and stored with the entry. If precise location is unavailable while the location option is on, an approximate city-level location may be estimated from your network connection and labeled as a network estimate. Logbooks are not linked to accounts, names, or email addresses; we do not store IP addresses with entries.
